Beverly (Bev) Ann Gladding Morales, 91, passed away with family by her side on July 14, 2025.
She is survived by her children, David and Tracey (DJ) Fitzgerald; her grandchildren, Ashley Morales and Kyle Fitzgerald; and her siblings, Mona Eddy and Dale (Barbara) Carver. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian (née Holcomb) and James Carver, and her brother, Richard Gladding.
Bev was born in Canandaigua and spoke fondly of her childhood days. She carried cherished memories of spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Appleton, who loved spoiling her. She enjoyed making dolls from hollyhocks, attending school in a one-room schoolhouse, and role-playing as a teacher using a chalkboard her father had handmade for her. She thrived as a student and was the salutatorian of her high school class.
As an adult, Bev’s career began at Eastman Kodak as an executive assistant, and later, she became the first woman to hold a leadership position at OTB of New York. If given the option, she would have chosen to stay home with her children. Until her final days, she often said that her greatest accomplishment and source of happiness were her children and grandchildren. In life’s most challenging moments, they gave her the resilience and strength to move forward. She worried about them (and everyone else) until the very end, because that was her superpower.
A memorial service to celebrate Bev’s life will be held Monday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of East Bloomfield, 10 South Ave., Bloomfield. She will be buried at East Bloomfield Cemetery.
In honor of her brother, Richard, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ontario ARC, 3071 County Complex Dr., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Condolences may be offered at www.doserfuneralhome.com.
